Pussy Ears!

I was working at Valoze’s (a greenhouse) today to help out my Aunt and I took home the COOLEST cactus. It’s called “pussy ears,” which is pretty much the only reason I wanted it. That, and it will be easy to bring back to Buffalo because it’s not prickly. It’s soft…like cat ears…hence the name. I also got one called “love struck” which looks like a pink-ish flower (you can KIND OF see it behind the pussy ears in the picture). I love Cacti. You know why? No muss, no fuss, just like life should be.

That’s how my life has been lately and I love it. Work is good. I’m making money, meeting new people. I’m genuinely happy for the first time in a LONG time. It’s so exciting to be working for and being published in a REAL paper. None of this college journalism, deadlines are an option, let’s get drunk and screw around stuff I’m used to (though I hope that changes next semester! *wink*…I’m not saying anything yet!)

ANYWAY in the spirit of being happy, and because I really have nothing else to say at the moment I am making one of my (in)famous lists.

Things That Make My Life Worth Living (May 2009 edition)

1. 90s throwback weekend on FLY92. I heard Hanson 3 times to far!

2. COLDPLAY on Wednesday.

3. Having my first day off since I’ve been home (tomorrow).

4. The Daily Gazette in Schenectady, NY

5. Flip flops.

I am BEYOND excited for Coldplay. I’ve read a lot about the tour (they’re giving out free live CDs!) but I am going to try to approach it objectively. I don’t want my opinion to be skewed by how other people have been basically orgasm-ing over it in every major music publication. Look for my review on the show (probably sometime on Thursday…maybe Wednesday night if I’m feeling crafty).

It’s probably going to be a really fun time even if the show sucks because it’s the first concert of the season at SPAC and I’m going with some fantastic people. I’m pumped.

I just hope Mr. Martin and the boys can deliver. We shall see.
