This is a fabulous quote from Robert Plant’s “Q&A” interview in the newest Rolling Stone. It really makes me reflect on how I, as a journalist, use words and how I can find new ones to give myself an original voice.
Reporter: You’re often called a “golden god”–does that bother you?
Robert Plant: A lot of journalists need to read a bit more, I think. There is more than one way to describe somebody who was in a band, but I guess it’s kind of cute.
I agree with him, but the thing is, how do you describe Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zeppelin (arguably the greatest rock band of all time), as anything other than “God”? I’ve been praying to the Church of Zeppelin for a long, long time.
And no, that does not a Satanist make.
